Heart for People's mission is to provide wrap-around outreach services and referrals for low-income communities that are at risk for violence and social inequities, i.e., housing, education, employment, and healthcare. We shall accomplish this by partnering with established nonprofits: Healthy Communities, Inc., Bay Area Lifeline Nursing School, and others. OUR PURPOSE: Heart for People's purpose is to be a community resource for low-income and violence-exposed individuals and families. Our goal is to save our children and communities by fighting violence with education and employment opportunities. We support our daily efforts with a free, annual "Heart for People" outdoor, community, and back-to-school event. This event features food, music, social services referrals, health screenings, and backpacks with school supplies. We are offering an invitation to the community that if a family has a troubled youth or loved one who needs assistance with housing, education, employment, and healthcare, please contact us.

SERVICES: Mentor programs, educational and informational services, along with job placement workshops.

A. Providing access to job information and referrals to the community: Available to men and women; through our community partnerships with Bay Area Lifeline Nursing, People Ready Job Placement Agency, Los Angeles, and Technical Nursing School, Los Angeles. HEALTHCARE through our partnership with Healthy Communities providing pre-health screens, blood pressure screening, glucose screening, Body Mass Index (BMI) screening, post-traumatic stress disorder assessment and referrals; trauma-informed care screening and referrals, and mental health assessments.

HOUSING: We provide housing in both Los Angeles and Oakland for individuals in need. These homes provide mentor programs and workshops, job placement information, counseling, monthly outings, monthly family gatherings, family support services, and educational cultural outings.

Kids SCHOOL Supplies & Backpacks: Our contributors donate children's back-to-school supplies and fully equipped backpacks for all school-age children.
